Our Review Guide

Edmonton City View

To provide you with only the best in Edmonton, we make sure to meticulously test, monitor, and evaluate all of the
aspects of a product or service before we put them in our lists.

And to ensure that we make fair and objective reviews for each of them, we formulated our own review process that we
strictly follow.

To give you an idea of how we do things around here, let me give you a quick run-down of our review process:

  1. Acquire the Product or Service Experience is the best teacher—or in this case, the best reviewer. You can’t make accurate reviews about something if you haven’t tried it for yourself, right? That’s why we
    only
review products and services that we have tried and tested for ourselves. Even if we have to shell out money to buy a product or to subscribe to a service, we will do it to give you a
    clear
idea of what it’s like to use it.
  2. Identify the Intended Purpose A product’s or service’s purpose is to provide a solution to an existing consumer problem. That’s why it’s important to know the intended use of a product or service: because that’s how we’ll know
    what to
focus our reviewers’ goggles on when we write up our recommendations.
  3. Teardown of the Product and Service We mean this figuratively and literally. We look at the advertised features or specifications and tear them down to evaluate each of them properly.
    This is so
that we can come up with a comprehensive review of the entire product or service. During the evaluation, we ask ourselves questions like:
    • What is the quality of the feature or service offered?
    • How well does it achieve its intended purpose?
    • Do its features or specifications set it apart from other similar products or services?
    • What is its price point compared to similar products or services in the market?
For some products, we literally take them apart so that we’ll also be able to see the quality of the parts
    that make
it whole and understand how they work.
  4. The Pros and Cons After gaining firsthand experience, we then list out what we think are the pros and cons of a product or
service. However, we don’t base our reviews entirely off our own experience. We also take into account numerous
    customer
testimonials about a product or service because we recognize how different user experiences can be.
  5. Final Evaluation Finally, we take a step back and look at all of the data we gathered and make a decision—do we recommend it
or not? If we recommend it, we will tell our readers what made us do so. And even if we recommend it, we’ll still
    tell you of
things you should consider before you buy the product or service. If we don’t recommend it, we will simply exclude it and look for another product or service we can review and
    give
the moniker of “Best in Edmonton”.
