It wasn’t my idea to have lunch here, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was! We had both fresh fish and cooked dishes and they were fantastic! Sushi has a new meaning for men me! Such nice and friendly staff ?One of my new favourite Sushi ? places in Edmonton. Lots of parking very easy to get to. Superfood and great sized portions. Don’t underestimate the tiny interior of this sushi bar, Sushi Wasabi has some of the best sushi and sashimi options locally. Sushi Wasabi is located conveniently too — in Lendrum Place Shopping Centre, so if you need a little mid-shopping break, a good snack can be eaten here.

The best Sushi place in town by far. The staff is one hundred percent Japanese, and the sushi chef has been a certified sushi chef for many years. The price is a bit on the higher side but for what they offer it is completely worth it. Make sure to call and book a table because they are always full! Prior to this whole quarantine fun, my cohorts and I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant and would wholly recommend it to all executive consumers living or travelling to Edmonton. This makes for a great mid afternoon meeting spot and even better as a launch point to Oilers games with Rogers being close by. At its heart, Nomiya is a local, family-owned business that has been in the restaurant industry for over 45 years. Their head chef, Jeff Chan, started his culinary career in 1971, specializing in Asian cuisine – specifically, the labour intensive art of Dim Sum. Chef Chan moved to Canada in 1988 with his family, including his wife, Kin; daughter, Wing; and son, Tony. He proceeded to open several successful Asian restaurants, including this one, Nomiya!
After an eye-opening visit to Japan, the Chan Family’s wish was to bring traditional ramen to the City of Edmonton, opening the first Nomiya in 2011. Managed by Wing, Nomiya’s ramen process utilizes all of the techniques and components of a traditional ramen. The homemade broth, Chef Chan’s special recipe, is a labour of love 45 years in the making, taking at least 8 hours to make.
