Beer, wine, and a helluva good time, Yuk Yuk’s the place where you can find all those and more. This place is fun and the food is affordable as well as better than your usual fare.
These guys, as they like to say, take comedy very seriously, and they enjoy bringing the highest quality of entertainment to their customers. You can be sure that you’ll have a pretty good time in this place as well as a load of laughs!
Do be reminded the show is not censored, though, and that the place is only for people 18 and above. In any case, their dedication to great entertainment value and more makes them one of the best comedy clubs in Edmonton.

I went to see Nikki Payne this past weekend and it was a great experience overall. Given the staff to patron ratio our service was kind of slow to begin with but when we talked to the manager she sent somebody out right away and our subsequent service was quicker. The noise level of the sound system was a bit painful but I got used to it. The wings we ate were well done and I had a good time 🙂

The Comedy Factory has been bringing laughs to people for over 30 years, and their stand-up comedy is some of the best Edmonton has to offer. Aside from stand-up comedy, they also offer hypnotists, magicians, illusionists, variety acts, ventriloquists, impressionists, improv, and more.
This makes them unique in a sense: every night there’s something new to offer on the table. This comedy club is relatively cheap as well, so getting a ticket here won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

The Grindstone is a local bistro, bar and comedy theatre that serves great craft beer and pub fare, as well as providing amazing entertainment for their patrons.
With an atmosphere that’s chill and welcoming, the place is easy to relaxi in. You’ll have fun with your friends here, because you’re not likely to feel out-of-place or uncomfortable.

This place is one of the most comfortable places for anyone that feels uncomfortable around strangers. The staff are the greatest people as they make you feel most welcoming and the different selection of shows, gives most people something to enjoy. Wednesday open mike for comedians is definitely something to come check out if you want a night full of laughs and seeing different comedians. Some of the open mike comedians have their own shows too which are hilarious! This place is a blessing and I highly recommend this place to anyone. Being Transgendered can make you feel uncomfortable, but this place makes you feel at ease and is quite a comfortable place to be yourself all the while enjoying great shows:). Favorite place in Edmonton.

Rapid Fire Theatre is located within the Citadel Theatre and offers a slew of shows to entertain plenty. This place has probably one of the cheapest rates when it comes to shows, and they even have an affordable bar/snack kiosk.
However, due to the popularity and affordability of their shows, they often sell out tickets like hotcakes, so a word of advice is to get them in advance.
Their Chimprov as well as Improvganza are among the more gut-bustingly funny shows.

Love, love, loved everything about Rapid Fire! (except maybe the fact that it happens so late… I’ve got the sleeping habits of an old lady, don’t judge.) I went to a Chimprov show and it was absolutely hilarious. The actors were all very quick with their wit, connected with the audience, and put on a thoroughly entertaining show. You really have to admire them for going up there and being able to wing something right on the spot.
I would highly recommend coming to check them out. The cost and length are about equivalent to a movie, so it’s not as expensive as some other forms of theatre. It’s a perfect ‘outside the box’ kind of place to come with a group of friends, or a date!, to spend a night out. I mean, humor is the way to people’s hearts and Rapid Fire definitely wormed it’s way into mine!

Quite honestly with improv theatre, you never quite know what type of entertainment you’re really going to get: it will be improvised meaning that it will not follow a script but beyond that, you really don’t know. Over the years I’ve been to numerous RFT shows and events though I definitely don’t attend frequently. They are currently located in the Zeidler hall in the Citadel Theatre and this venue is pretty much a perfect size for their shows. They sell drinks (including alcohol) and twizzlers/nibs which can be purchased either before the show or at intermission (depending on the type of show, this may vary).
As they’re located in the Citadel, you can get here easily via transit and there are many parking garages available within easy walking distances (including the attached library parkade).
